1 bunch (about 1/2 Lb) - Spinach
1 cup Yougurt
1/2 inch Ginger piece
2 - Green chillies
Salt - to taste
2 tsp Oil
3/4 tsp Mustard
2 flakes of Garlic
Chilli powder - per taste
1tsp Roasted cumin powder
1tsp sugar or as per taste
1. Wash spinach and cut. Grate the ginger and chop green chillies. Boil or microwave spinach with the ginger, green chilles and salt.
2. After the spinach gets cool, add beaten yougurt.
3. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard. When the mustard begins to splutter, add crushed garlic and fry until the garlic turns light brown in color. Add it to the yougurt mixture.
4. Add sugar, cumin powder,salt ,Chilli powder.
5.Chill and Spinach Raita is ready to serve.
