Indian Food Recipes -> Til Rice recipe

Ingredients for Til Rice:

1 cup - rice
1 tsp - oil
1/2 cup - white til(Sesame Seeds)
3 to 4 - red chillies
2 tsp - urad dal
1 pinch - hing powder
a few curry leaves
1 tsp - jaggery
1 tsp - oil
Salt - to taste

For Tempering:
1 tbsp - oil
1 tsp - mustard seeds
1 tsp - urad dal
1 tsp - chana dal
Few groundnuts and/or cashews

Method to make Til Rice:


1. Cook rice in 2cups of water till done.
2. Spread rice on a plate and allow it to cool.
3. In a pan heat 1tsp oil,fry urad dal,chillies hing.powder and til. Cool it.
4. Grind to make powder and spread on the rice.
5. Heat 1tbsp oil and add mustard seeds,urad dal,chana dal,groundnuts or cashews,curry leaves.
6. Fry till dals and nuts are golden brown and pour on rice mix.
7. Add salt and jaggery powdered and mix well.
8. Til Rice is ready to be served.
